About Dr Caldwell
Experience
Dr. Ellie Caldwell is an experienced executive and leadership coach with expertise in Organisational Psychology and is a practicing Chartered Clinical Psychologist. She has a strong background in co-designing and delivering psychological services to individuals, teams, and organisations across diverse sectors.

Ellie’s interest in psychology began while working as a climbing instructor, where she observed how individuals varied in their approach to challenges and could be helped to overcome mental and physical barriers. This led her to pursue a career in psychology, earning a doctorate in applied clinical psychology with advanced training in clinical health psychology.

For a decade, Ellie's clinical career in NHS specialised in supporting individuals with physical health conditions, including cancer, HIV, and persistent physical symptoms. As an embedded psychologist in multidisciplinary healthcare teams, she provided psychological training and consultancy to enhance patient care, staff wellbeing, and leadership. For the past four years, Ellie worked in, and for the latter two years took on the leadership role for, a specialist NHS Staff Support Service, providing psychological services to health and care staff.

For nearly six years, Ellie has successfully run a business offering psychological training, coaching, and consultancy across sectors including Government, Higher Education, Engineering, Renewable Energy, and Marketing. She has experience of working internationally, with coaching clients in the USA and Canada. She helps organisations improve leadership, teamwork, change management, and business outcomes.
In addition to her established coaching and consultancy business, and her role within Cutting Edge Psychology, Ellie currently serves as Director of Corporate Services for a non-profit organisation in Edinburgh.

Dr Belinda Hacking
MA. DClinPsy. CPsychol. AFBPsS. HCPC Reg.
About Dr Hacking
Experience
Dr. Belinda Hacking is an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist and senior healthcare leader with a proven record of driving innovation and transformational change across NHS services in Scotland.

Belinda has 30 years of clinical experience, working mainly in large medical hospitals with patients who have physical health conditions, in services such as cancer, pain management, HIV, clinical genetics, sickle cell anaemia, infertility and haematology. She was appointed Director of Psychology for NHS Lothian in 2019, where she led the strategic and operational development of psychological services. Between 2012 and 2014, Belinda served as the National Professional Lead for Clinical Psychology with the British Psychological Society, advocating for national strategies to improve population wellbeing. She later chaired the Heads of Psychology in Scotland Group (2019–2023), working with other Directors of NHS Boards and the Scottish Government to implement evidence-based frameworks to improve the quality and access to psychological care and treatment.

Belinda is a respected academic with 46 published research papers, including contributions to Realistic Medicine, a national approach to shared decision-making in health and social care.
In 2002, she established EC4H (Effective Communication for Healthcare), a highly acclaimed training network delivering communication skills programmes across NHS Scotland. She also led a redesign of risk management and family engagement in maternity services, commissioned by Healthcare Improvement Scotland.

Throughout her working life, Belinda has focused on driving up standards in healthcare. Yet she firmly believes that focusing on performance management alone is not enough, and that the highest of standards can only be achieved by working collaboratively with staff to empower them and to develop their strengths and interests – Success only feels like success when the whole team shares and owns it.
